CHETHIPUZHA ST. THOMAS HOSPITAL
       
 
         St. Thomas hospital Chethipuzha , Changanassery is a health care institution owned and run by the Archdiocese of Changanassery established in the year 1953. It is a 450 bedded multispeciality hospital. The school of Nursing is attached to the hospital where clinical experience is provided to the students during their training period. It is established in in 1967 and it offers integrated courses in General Nursing and midwifery for 3 ½ years leading to a diploma as registered nurse and midwife. At present 45 students are admitted every year as per rules of the council of nursing. A diploma is awarded to the successful candidate at the end of the course. The school is recognized both by the Central Nursing Council (INC) as well as State Nursing Council (KNMC). The medium of instruction is English.

Our aim is to train the young girls to assume responsibilities as professional competent nurses and midwives in providing promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services following the footstepts of Christ the divine healer. It is completing 42 years of quality education with the help of a very diligent team of teachers. Besides the academic excellence, the students are given ample opportunities to develop their talents and skills.

Admission Requirements.

1. The applicant should be a resident of Kerala State.
2. The minimum academic qualification is a pass in plus two examinations or it equivalent with physics, chemistry, and     biology as optional subjects with an aggregate of 45% marks for physics, chemistry and biology.
3. Sex- Female; Age should not be less than 17 years and not more than 27 years. Five years less for SC/SC and three     years less for B/C. S.S.L.C certificate is the proof for age.
4. Sound health, good and strong moral character.

Selection

1. Selection is based on the marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying examination and a written test cum     interview. Aptitude and attitude to the profession shall be specifically considered before admitting any candidate to     the course of study.
2. A complete physical examination will be done before admission and those found medically unfit will not be granted     admission.
